Since it gives you access to practically all information available, there is a huge possibility that highly opinionated and hatred-induced viewpoints influence immature minds. I find the younger generation blog about things I never knew existed when I was their age. And since blogging is *non-curtailed* expression of thought, people can say whatever they want, even before they spend time thinking about it. Free expression of thought through a debate is such an amazing and healthy concept -- if each other's viewpoint is treated with respect, and more importantly when both people are open to changing their own opinions. And now over to the other point of education. What you say about lack of freedom to choose a less-tread path is absolutely true, especially in India. This is driven to a large extent, I guess, by the economy. There has never been a moment in my last couple of years when I have not wondered if I did the right thing by becoming an engineer. And I'm sure it's the same thought that goes through the minds of millions of Indians. The Western World is better - no career path is looked down upon. But choosing a career very early without guidance might not be the best thing to do. Everyone will want to end up being an astronaut or a model or a sportsman. Which is why I think the role of teachers is indispensible! Enough said... posted by: shikha (reply) post date: 09.02.05 (8:17 pm) Thanks for your inputs :) As for freedom of expression in blogs, I agree too. A couple of days ago, I read this blog criticising "muck and garbage in the blogosphere". Well, I didn't agree with his opinion, but then, he's entitled to an opinion too :) Its places like blogs that allow you to release your feelings. And that's exactly what I'm doing ;) posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 02.28.09 (7:01 am) Nice article posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 02.28.09 (3:56 pm) Nice article posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 02.28.09 (11:43 pm) Nice article posted by: arhiderrr (reply) post date: 03.01.09 (7:35 am) Nice article |
