06.14.05 (12:11 pm)   [edit]

What do I say... Some fortunate times, my office firewalls seem to be busted, so I can get a peek at banned sites and maybe even add blogs ;)

Today is Tuesday. I will be going home this Friday and coming back next Thursday! Yippeeee!

I love going to Kerala during the monsoons. Its just absolutely fab! The whole greenery gets dressed in dewy droplets, and the smell of fresh wet earth, just sails through the air! Yummmmmmyyyyy :D

Kerala is a wonderful place to be in, esp. if you are a nature lover! I recommend it to all you travellers! :D Of course, not every place is great, and you really won't see a full fledged city (like Bangalore/Bombay etc) anywhere in Kerala. Cochin comes close to being a city, but its rather quaint, and distinct. Its a mix of a lot of cultures, and you'll find typical Keralites co-existing with Tamilians, Telugus, Konkanis, Gujaratis, Rajasthanis, UP-ites etc... so in some places of Cochin, you bound to get this sense of Déjà Vu... as if you're in some other place altogether.

What's great about Kerala, is that no place is totally like a village either. Education has penetrated the land, quite a bit, so even the villagers aren't uneducated, and backward....

What I love of course, is the bed of green you see wherever you go! Flying into Kerala, is like flying into this green carpet under you... wherever you go, you see trees and greenery... natural lush flora.... And when it rains, you get to see this fantabulous (fantastic+fabulous, for the ignorant) emerald colour everywhere. The air is fresh, slightly cold, and dewy. Be there to experience it.

However, a word of warning: What you must know about the monsoons is that there are days that the rain never stops pouring in; So if you're the kind who hates to be cooped up at home, while its pouring cats and dogs outside the whole day, in fact the whole week... then, well, you may reconsider going to Ooty/Shimla or anywhere else ;)...

As for me, I am a true-blue rain child. I flourish in the rain, and don't mind getting all soggy! I've waded in knee deep water many a times, while going to school/college, and I've just enjoyed each moment :)

And I'm going to do that exactly, once I get home! I can write reams and reams about rains (and also complain vociferously about what a s**t city Bangalore is, since 2 days of continuous rains, brings about such floods/casualities that a whole year of rain wouldn't do to Kerala), but I should stop now. After all, I'm doing this all on office time! ;)

Okies, bye for now folks!

Mundane Mondays
06.06.05 (8:03 am)   [edit]

Monday mornings are mundane.

Hoisting myself up from the bed itself is a big deal. My office starts at the most unholy time possible - 7.15 a.m.

I am just not this morning person. I can stay all night long doing all the crap things in the world, but mornings, I have to be in bed. Its just so wonderful and heavenly to stay curled up in bed, while its just slightly cold, and misty all over...

On Saturday night (or rather Sunday morning) I stayed upto 3.00 a.m. watching some crap movies on TV. It was such an exhilarating feeling! Liberation...:D

At my home, I have to worry about my mom frowning, and getting irritated at my lack of discipline. Usually when I go home for a holiday, I end up watching TV till 12, and then I noiselessly creep my way upto my bedroom; Exactly at that moment, my mom wakes up to go to the loo, and she gives me this sleepy irritated look, and asks me : "why can't you go to bed earlier?"... Of course, my going to bed late means getting up later, and then she proceeds to switch on the long played tape, about how people should go to bed early and get up early; And about how indisciplined I am etc. etc. etc.

Ah... the merits of living alone *dreamy look on my face*

Right now though, there is no merit at all, sitting in office at 8.00 in the morning. Generally I am a very optimistic person, but Mondays, I have the most foul mood in the world. Well, once I get over my sleep, and shake myself out of the weekend mood, maybe I can get going on some work.
